With the rapid rise of food safety requirements around the world, Alphonsa is investing in a new Pasteurisation and Packing Complex to stay ahead of the regulations and its customer’s aspirations. Construction of the complex has already begun and is scheduled to be functional by January 2021.

As part of Alphonsa’s commitment to resource conservation, we worked with our paper and packaging suppliers to address the impact of our use of paper for packaging. As a result of our commitment, 100% percent of the paper used in Alphonsa’s paper packaging now comes from FSC Chain-of-Custody Certified Suppliers.

The entire cashew chain is increasingly becoming the primary source of pesticide contamination, putting the health and safety of consumers at risk. To prevent the usage of harmful pesticides and possible contamination, there needs to be complete visibility of the origination and procurement stage resulting in a transparent, traceable and responsible cashew value chain.

By 2025 we aim to bring all our farmer suppliers from 6 origins under our Farmer Management System (FMS).

Alphonsa Cashew Industries has been awarded Authorised Economic Operator Tier 2 Status on 16 March 2020 by the Directorate of International Customs, Government of India. Alphonsa Cashew is the first company from the Indian cashew industry to be awarded the Tier 2 Status.

Alphonsa Cashew is the first company in the cashew industry to be certified with ISO 14001. The certification is an international standard that specifies requirements for an effective Environmental Management System (EMS), which provides an operational tool for measuring and managing environmental goals.
